A growing population along the State Highway 121 corridor is bringing a diverse mix of grocers to the area to meet the needs of both residents and daytime employees.
Activity in the Castle Hills area both residential and commercial is exceptional and its not going to slow down any time soon, says Eric Stanley, Bright Realty President and COO. Major corporate relocations and record-breaking housing starts have impacted the area. This kind of growth requires retail services to support a more diverse demographic, one that is requiring a certain level of retail experience with more options.
There are several grocery retailers currently open or coming soon to the Castle Hills area. The Kroger Marketplace on State Highway 121 and Josey Lane offers traditional items as well as premium beer and wines, international items and even fine jewelry. This particular location is also one of a handful in the state to offer the grocers new ClickList program which allows shoppers to purchase items online and pick up at the curb. According to The Dallas Morning News, the ClickList service targets two types of shoppers: those with limited time and those with limited mobility.
In addition to the Kroger Marketplace, Super Target occupies the opposite corner, east of Josey Lane. At the southeast corner of Josey and Windhaven Parkway, ALDI is scheduled to begin construction in the next year. An additional European-based grocer is also eyeing Castle Hills for a new location.
There are 4,000 single family homes in Bright Realtys master-planned Castle Hills community alone, with several hundred more planned in the coming years. Our multi-family project, Discovery at The Realm, will bring thousands of luxury apartment homes to the area and Crown Centre, our corporate campus, will increase daytime population. These grocery options are a community asset to our buyers and renters, as well as to the growing employee population in the area, added Stanley.
