Bright Realty's Crown Centre development was mentioned as a candidate among possible Dallas-area sites for Amazon's second headquarters in the January 19 edition of The Dallas Morning News. The article cited the positive attributes of Bright Realty's 135-acre site, noting "Crown Centre at Castle Hills would have more than enough space for Amazon and nearby housing for employees." The Crown Centre site is located at SH121 and FM544 (Parker Road) in Lewisville, with land development activities completed.
In a map that accompanied the front-page article, Crown Centre is shown among 15 potential sites that were pitched to the retail giant. "The map clearly demonstrates the ideal location of Crown Centre in the middle of the metroplex and only 15 minutes to the airport," said Eric Stanley, Bright Realty president & COO. The immediate area around Castle Hills is already home to DFW's biggest relocations, including Toyota North America (4,100 jobs), Liberty Mutual (5,000 jobs), JP Morgan Chase (4,800 jobs) and AmeriSourceBergen Corp. (3,000 jobs). "If the Lewisville site were selected, Amazon's second headquarters would bring 50,000 jobs over the next decade," he added.
Crown Centre's Castle Hills location would offer an abundance of both single- and multi-family homes to Amazon employees. Castle Hills currently has 15,000 residents with new homes from the high $300s and up, and Bright Realty's Discovery at The Realm, a luxury 423-unit multi-family development with high-end amenities such as a gated-entrance, fully-staffed club and dog park. Cottages at The Realm is a new gated community offering 72 quality-built three- and four-bedroom rental homes ranging in size from 1,844 to 2,777 square feet.
Crown Centre is located along State Highway 121 and FM 544 and offers up to 3 million square feet of Class A, build-to-suit space. The midrise corporate campus will include structured parking, outdoor seating areas, a formal lawn and pecan grove, a significant lake and water feature, as well as a bocce ball court. Currently within a three-mile radius of Crown Centre are more than 119 restaurants, 92 retail stores and 13 fitness centers.
"The Crown Centre location offers housing options, proximity to DFW Airport, a work-live-play setting and easy access to entertainment destinations like The Shops at Legacy and Legacy West," said Stanley. "We are pleased to be a contender in what is likely the most-talked-about project of the year."
